At the time I thought that 3" wide tree I was hiding behind would protect
me from the huge deer with horns... ???
These deer on Fire Island were beautiful...and so big!
They seemed very friendly... :)
The sad thing was that the deer were both covered with ticks and had open sores on their bodies.
I used to see tick control pescticide containers all over the island to help protect the deer,
but I have not seen any this season... :(
